Inventory management for construction

Keep track of materials, tools and equipment across job sites, containers and vans. Every withdrawal on the right project, every tool with a responsible person.

Used by over 600 companies across Europe, including:

A contractor rarely has one warehouse. Materials sit in the main store, in the container on site and in the back of the vans, and tools move between projects every week. When nobody records what is taken out where, things get ordered twice, people search for hours, and new tools are bought that are actually sitting in another van.

Lagerdrift gives every site, container and van its own location in one system. The worker scans the material with a phone and picks the project, the tool gets a responsible person and a return date, and the office sees stock live.

Sound familiar?

Tools vanishing between projects

The rotary hammer was on Building A last week. Now nobody knows who took it on, and it ends in a new purchase.

Double orders

Cable and fixings get ordered for one project while three pallets sit untouched in the container on another.

Withdrawals without a project

Material leaves the store without landing on the right project. The cost shows up as shrinkage instead of on the invoice.

Stocktaking on paper

The count takes a whole day of printouts and Excel, and the numbers are out of date before they are typed in.

How Lagerdrift solves it

One location per site, container and van

Build the warehouse the way it really is: main store, site, container, rack, shelf and van. Move material between locations with two scans.

Scan with a phone on site

QR codes, barcodes and NFC are read with the phone camera. Print your own labels from the app, or use the barcode already on the packaging.

Withdrawals on projects

Every withdrawal is booked to a project with a cost centre. You see what each project has used, and the material cost makes it onto the invoice.

Tool loans with a return date

The worker scans the tool and becomes responsible for it. Set a return date and Lagerdrift sends an email or push reminder when it falls due. Full loan history per tool.

Minimum stock per location

Set minimum and maximum stock per location. When stock drops below the limit you get an alert, and Lagerdrift adds the item to the purchase proposal automatically.

Roles and permissions

Foreman, project manager and buyer each get their own role. Control who can withdraw, move, order and edit, and read the full change log when something is unclear.

Up and running in a morning

No installation, no consultants. You set up the first warehouse yourself, and we help for free whenever you want.

1

Create the locations

Main store, sites, containers and vans. Print labels for shelves and containers.

2

Add materials and tools

Import from Excel or CSV, or scan in what you have. Set minimum stock on what must not run out.

3

Give the crew the app

Employees install the app on their own phones, log in and scan. Withdrawals, loans and moves are recorded where the work happens.

Common questions

Can we have one warehouse per job site?
Yes. Every site, container and van becomes its own location in Lagerdrift, and locations can have sub-locations such as rack and shelf. Stock is shown per location, and you move material between them by scanning.
How do we get material costs onto the right project?
Every withdrawal is booked to a project. A project can carry a cost centre, project manager and customer, and afterwards you see what was taken out on each project, by whom and when.
What happens when a tool is not returned?
The tool has a responsible person and can have a return date. Once the date has passed, Lagerdrift sends a reminder by email or push. The loan history shows who has had the tool before.
Do we need dedicated scanners?
No. The mobile app reads QR codes, barcodes and NFC with the camera in ordinary iPhones and Android phones. If you want dedicated Android handheld scanners, the app runs on those too.
Does it work without coverage in the basement?
The app needs a connection to record. Some scanning flows hold on to the scans until you are back online, but Lagerdrift is not built to work offline for long.
